The Kohler Villager News

Letter to the editor . . .

Submitted by Jane Bishop

On behalf of the Kohler School Board, I want to publicly thank our hard-working teachers, support staff, custodians, administrative staff and administrators for their commitment and dedication to our students.

We are proud of how the Kohler School has kept its focus on serving students. When we closed our buildings in March, our staff quickly implemented a new distance learning plan and we are adapting. We have an incredible team.

With learning packets for our elementary students, lessons taught on Zoom, and the use of Chrome Books, our students continue to actively learn the material. Our faculty have surely gone the extra mile.

We would also like to thank Superintendent Quynh Trueblood for her vision in rethinking education during this crisis and her diligence in carrying out that vision every day. This includes her personal video at the outset of the “Learning at Home” experience.

Finally, we want to thank you, our district families. We know these past few weeks have not been easy and we only have a few more weeks to go before the summer break begins. Please know that the Kohler School Board and District stand ready to assist you.

We are all on this journey together. We are your Kohler School District and we want to do everything we can to continue educating and supporting the children of our community.

Although our buildings and facilities are closed, our district is not. We are home to some of the best students and staff, and they will finish the school year strong.

We look forward to joining with you later this summer to celebrate the graduation of our high school seniors on August 2. And we look forward to seeing you at other school events soon.

Keep up that Bomber Pride!!
Stay healthy and optimistic,
Jane A. Bishop, Ph.D.
Kohler School Board President
