June 30 marked a monumental day in the construction of the new Aurora Medical Center in Sheboygan County as the final beam was set in place. This milestone in the construction industry is known as the “topping off” and often celebrated by all involved in the project.
Under normal circumstances, this significant milestone would have been cause for a gathering at the site but due to COVID-19, the event was captured in photos.
Leading up to the milestone, team members, community leaders as well as the construction workers all signed the beam. The beam was raised along with an evergreen tree to represent the successful completion of the structure and the flag which represents the pride and hard work of the workers, the health care providers, and all those who protect our communities and our freedom. The new facility is set to open in 2022.
